Windsurf Vibes

Find your line. Catch the Meltemi.

A bright, fast little score chase across the sea. Thread the golden gates, chain a streak, jump the buoys and decide when to spend your boost. One run takes ninety seconds; the next one is always tempting.

Behind the experience

The sea is scenery. The timing is the game.

Procedural waves and geometry set the scene; a small set of readable rules makes you want another run.

01 / Water & motion

The board has to believe in the wave.

The renderer and board motion use a shared wave surface. Analytic slopes describe its tilt, and numerical tests check those derivatives against neighbouring height samples. A beautiful sea is less convincing when the board ignores it.

02 / Score loop

A good line buys the next burst.

Consecutive gates increase the score award and refill boost. Missing one breaks the streak; jumping a buoy avoids its speed penalty. Boost is a resource to spend between gates, not a button to hold forever.

03 / Opening beat

Make the countdown land with the music.

The cinematic and countdown durations are tied to the 128 BPM score. Skipping the intro still leaves a countdown, and the session logic starts the race exactly once. Presentation and race timing are separate state machines.

04 / Sound

A fixed track. A responsive sea.

Meltemi Overdrive is a bundled stereo track, not live browser-generated music. Web Audio adds water ambience and arcade cues that respond to the run. Pause, mute and volume controls keep both layers under the player's control.

What this version is

A short run. A reason to try again.

An arcade prototype, not a windsurfing simulator. Runs last ninety seconds and your best score is kept in this browser. Geometry and waves are generated; the music is a bundled audio file. Performance varies by device, with a lighter rendering option in the pause menu.

Controls

Catch the next gate.

A / D or left / right arrows steer · Shift boosts · Space jumps · P or Escape pauses · M mutes · F toggles fullscreen. Enter starts; Escape skips the intro. Touch players get steering, boost and jump buttons.

The return link above the player unloads the experience and its sound.
